Final Reflection

Final Reflection – Adult Learning: Theory & Application | HASTAC

What cost me the most this semester in this particular class was the way I had to get used to writing. The most formative thing we could do was for me, the elevator speech. I am very proud that I could see myself more relaxed speaking. In the same way I feel that I am an entrepreneur and that all the people in this class developed excellent ideas and I am sure that this is where the most successful people in Florida come from. The only recommendation I have for students of the future is to be patient. What I recommend that they do is that they ask a lot and they are always wrong because in this way we learn.

Your exit strategy

Escape strategy
I decided to give a stop to my company since at the moment the only thing I am interested in doing is graduating and having work experience to achieve my goals, which the primary one will be to do my company and generate work.

Why
I chose this output because right now I have no interest in executing it because I keep in mind that there is a lot of competition that has qualified personnel even with PhDs and they can give me very hard.

Influence
My influence is more than anything in the family part, because if I manage to settle down and get a good job and experience, I am sure that my company will be very successful.

In the same way I think that every single person in this class must try to graduate first and then execute their company. I think that if we do this pattern, we all are going to become millionaires

27A – Reading Reflection No. 3

1) What was the general theme or plot of the book?

The author's medical conditions were his greatest inspiration. This is the reason for the different stories that are shown as the most notable failure of the book. When Scott stopped talking, it was almost the end of the world for him.

2) How, in your opinion, did the book connect and improve with what you are learning in ENT 3003?

The book more than anything is about failure with this class. It is commonly known that failure in entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs is the worst. What the author does is offer and expose different tips that overcome this.

3) If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise entail?

I would design a contest in which different people make their company and apply it in real life. The one with the most income has a A. Strict!

4) What was your biggest surprise or 'aha' moment when reading the book? In other words, what did you learn that differed the most from your expectations?

My biggest surprise was the desire to excel and to overcome all those obstacles in his life through his perseverance.

26A – Celebrating Failure

A time that I failed
What I feel the most that failed in the semester was with a math class since it always cost me, and I had a lot of work trying to pass it. I did it :)

What I learned
Usually, this type of subject is difficult for me since I was very prejudiced in my previous years. As a consequence, I had to learn to measure my time and perform my exercises more consistently. Also, I had an experience where others were struggling at math. I learned and I could teach them some stuff to make them get an A. Also I received an offer to become TA I this class

Reflection
Sometimes you have to learn from mistakes and always keep in mind that although there are different adversities in life, we can overcome them. In my case, the approval of this subject was the last necessary requirement to pass and be awarded a UF scholarship.

Reflection
My most important skills are managing resources and time. What I have to do to improve is my ability to improve creativity.

Whats Next

Step 1

The next step for my company is to improve it and train it to be more useful among people.

Step 2

Many people from the countryside were very enthusiastic about my idea, however there was one in particular that asked me for future international shipments.

Step 3

Based on all the feedback I've received, my next step is to create a prototype.

New market

Step 1
A totally different market from mine is the distribution or manufacture of clothing.

Step 2
I am not sure if my company has all the requirements to be in a new market since I do not have any person to help me with this type of distribution.

Step 3
The first interviewee suggested that the application is not only available on cell phones but on other more global and affordable devices for rural people.

Step 4
I learned that you have to have versatility in my application since not all of us have the same income.

My assumption of benefiting from my product is 100% accurate.

RA #2

The art of social media

1) What was the general theme or plot of the book?

The main objective of the book was to fully understand the main reasons for social networks and their impact to be successful. Optimization of profiles, entrepreneurship and use of different platforms are essential when having a social network. Something very important was the response and the handling of comments.

2) How, in your opinion, did the book connect and improve with what you are learning in ENT 3003?

The book improved me in many facets of my virtual social life. First of all I learned a lot who to follow, who adds me and who suits me. On the other hand, I also developed social skills since many women became very close friends. Similarly, social networks became a tool which empowered my entrepreneurship at the national level.

3) If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise entail?

The exercise that I would design would be very fun and demanding. First of all, I would make groups of students who have to create 3 different social media accounts to start. They are free to choose any type of style on the market but it cannot be repeated. The most successful group will be exempt from exams.

4) What was your biggest surprise or 'aha' moment when reading the book? In other words, what did you learn that differed the most from your expectations?

What surprised me most was the speed at which ideas become useless. Life takes many turns. For example, the author seems in love with google + but this tool would have a failed closure at the end of 2019. However, in 2014 the author gave advice on innovation in social networks and a lot of advice to promote this page, which was a disaster.

Elevator Pitch 3

As I did not receive much feedback, I was only based on the few comments I had on the previous one. I could see the camera more, I could have the strength to pronounce my words well. This was very different from the first video since in the first video I felt very nervous and this affected my pronunciation. Likewise, I was more fluid and felt more secure.

Growing Your Social Capital

Luis  (Fedegan)
1) I interviewed Luis, an agroeconomy professional and specialist in distribution and demarcation of agricultural products. I contacted him thanks to different calls to this company. He can improve my product. I know him because he is my father's best friend.

2) Daniel (Corabastos) It is in charge of classifying each food department within the agricultural sector. In other words, he is the one who organizes the sales sections. I contacted him through a call recommended by Luis. Can you show me the best market I need. I know him for his market shares.

3) Melba (districol) Melba is the most important person since she is the one who selects each agricultural product and does the quality control and quotes its mobilization price. She is the one who can improve my application in rural areas.

This experience requires you to do a little 'directed networking.' How will this experience determine how you will participate in future networking events? Did this experience differ from your networking experiences in the past? How?

My participation in social networks has a great advantage. My cousin, being a famous singer and recognized on social networks such as FB, IG and twitter, facilitates the voice-to-voice of my product around Colombia. In the same way, my cousin came to fame very quickly since from one week to the next I already had more than 200k followers and most of Colombia, so my product had more reach and recognition that even the federation itself made a mention to me.

Idea Napkin 2

1) you
I am an international student with goals to meet. He is very orderly, competitive, capable and very attentive to what people have to say. I enjoy every experience, no matter how small, since in my country we do not have as many opportunities as here. I am very good in punctuality and decency when necessary, as well as having a good time with my friends when it is due. My goals in my head are simple and long-term, as these are the ones that can provide a secure future for me and my family. I plan to graduate, get a job, very well paid and, therefore, return to my country and start a company that allows hundreds of people to work who can have a better lifestyle.

2) What are you offering to customers?
I am offering different forms of agricultural transport that is directed from rural areas to the most important urban areas of the country. In this way, there would be not only mutual but also environmental benefits.

3) Who are you offering it to?

I am offering it more than anything to the farmers of my country, since this class of people lives in a somewhat limited environment that entails great disadvantages.

4) Why do they care?

Clients worry about this service because in my country there is not much accessibility in terms of transportation in terms of agricultural areas. In the same way, being rural areas, the people of this area do not have enough resources to have big trucks as we see here in the United States.

5) What are your main competences?

The main competences for this service are the different offers that exist in terms of freight cars. In this way, a loan is taken out and purchased, however, this is not always feasible.

Elements that fit

The most important thing in business is

correct work environment
puntuality
accessibility
customer service
guarantee
product quality
affordable price

Feedback Memo

I did not receive any comments on my blog.

18A – Create a Customer Avatar

The intended client would like a job in which they can enjoy different things such as competitiveness, hard work and participate in all kinds of sports environment which can stand out. He tends to drive a very good and very useful car like a black BMW M5.
the customer doesn't like spending time on the television much, nor is he a big fan of theaters. At home, the client enjoys his free time playing video games such as fifa or COD. He has a Latin wife, and he has two children, a girl and a boy.

Clients are between 18-30 years old and are at their peak of happiness. Some may have differences since a graduate school client does not think the same as an undergraduate freshman.

I have a lot in common with my client since he and I share likes for sports, sports cars and we don't really like watching television but we do like to play video games from time to time.

Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

Alternative evaluation

The three interviews were very different since each one made their own decision and it was also a bit strange to hear that. But I liked that. In what if they were assimilated a little was in the prices and the quality of the product and how it has to be. In terms of aesthetics, everyone agreed.

How / where do they buy?
The three were very different responses. First, an online purchase, another directly in the store, and finally, the subject buys everything second-hand because it is cheaper. They always use debit or credit cards and the last subject used checks. In this evaluation, the only one who likes to analyze the price a lot is the last subject.

Post-purchase evaluation

The three agreed that before buying any product, they had to check its quality well and see how useful it can be. Similarly, when they associate price with quality they also analyze. What is missing in this analysis is the way they use the object.

Conclusions

In general, I can see that the responses of two interviewees of mine were somewhat related. My third interviewee had nothing to do with the way other individuals shop. In the first two interviewees, I can say that I feel represented with them since they are students and they do not associate the aspect of the product so much, but how good it is for what I need it.

This group focuses more on things like quality and use. As this group is a varied group, since the third interviewee is older, I could say that the differences should not be so amazing since as one grows, tastes change and the same happens with need.

Secret Sauce

Ambition: Being an international student and wanting to come and fix things that are not right in my country, makes me an ambitious person.

Discipline:
Since my dad is a military man, we have always had excellent discipline, always complying with tasks and schedules without any problem.

Kind: I have always thought that if you treat people well you will always receive the same treatment. Well not always since you run the risk of running into some bad class.

Time management: As my father is a military man we have always been concerned with punctuality in everything. When we see a situation in which it is impossible for us to arrive on time, it is there when we see the opportunity to arrive a little late but without any fault.

Analyst:

I have always liked to assess the consequences, whether good or negative of an event. That is why before I make a decision, so it goes with the flow, I have to analyze it and make the most logical and appropriate decision. Sometimes I fail with this

Mother

My mother has always described me as an honest and hard-working man. Since she was little, she says that I have always been very outgoing and have always liked talking to people with one, without regret. Similarly, she and I have something in common, we like to go buy things when we have extra money.

Pope

When my father describes me, he always says he feels he is describing himself but young. It tells me that we are very similar in what we say, how we think and how we act. What she says she likes best about me is that when I propose something, there is a 99% chance that I will get it.

Brother

With my brother I have always had a relationship of best friends that has been a lot of fun. He describes me as someone very different from him, who acts more calmly no matter what happens. What differentiates me the most from my brother is that he thinks a lot and analyzes everything, I just go with the flow.

Sister

I always had a very close relationship with my sister. She describes me as a person who is the exact copy of my father in the way of speaking, thinking and acting. However, what impressed me most is that she told me that she took good care of others.

Reflection

i really like how other family members thinks about me. I really try hard to act as I was taught to behave in front of any one and facing life without any obstacle related to self-steam.

Halfway Reflection

1) Tenacity is a competition. What behaviors have you used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
First of all, I knew that this course required a lot of writing and that it would always be required to the limit in my writing. With the weeks that I have been in the course I have felt that my way of writing has reached a point that the reader thinks in a deeper way and my concepts to analyze. Likewise punctuality in my tasks.

2) Tenacity is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What attracted you? Do you feel that you have developed a tenacious attitude during the last two months? What experience or experiences more contributed to this?

I have felt that I have developed tenacity since this class requires a lot of commitment and dedication. Over there I have heard that some electives are only taken to fulfill the graduation requirement, but nevertheless I do not agree with this specific class since this class teaches us to start and write fluently.

3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer the student next semester on (1) fostering skills that support toughness and (2) developing a 'tough mindset'?

To build skills, read an entrepreneurship book before taking this class. Second, never leave the tasks until the last minute because, due to the eagerness, ideas may not be reflected, and finally, have an attitude of always being willing to work with the required skills and your mind will take care of the other.

Reflection #1

1a) What surprised you the most?
What surprised me the most in this story is, first of all, how ambitious and a little cold-blooded Ray was with the McDonalds brothers. In the same way, I was also very surprised by the work Ray did in his past times before consecrating himself with the Mcdonlds empire. Also the age in which king was a millionaire since at 52, he is an advanced age.

1b) What about the entrepreneur you admired the most?

What I admire most about Rey is that he always had in mind what he wanted to do and always worked until he got what he wanted. However, even though he did a lot of damage to the brothers, he ended up giving them good money to live like kings. Also, what I liked most about Rey is that he always did everything legally and never thought of illegality, however I can question various attitudes.

1c) What about the entrepreneur you least admired?

What he least admired was the bad treatment he gave his partners.

1d) Did the entrepreneur encounter adversity and failure? If so, what did they do about it?

Yes, by getting married multiple times, having a very poorly paid job and having debts. However, the success came after 52 and he became a millionaire.

2) What skills did the entrepreneur notice that he exhibited?

The most notable and what helped him most to be who he was was the way he addressed people, his charisma, attitude and business vision. Likewise, his creative and innovative ideas helped him a great deal.

3) Identify at least one part of the reading that you found confusing.

What confused me the most was the issue of properties, and which made his fortune not by selling hamburgers, but by the real estate business and renting the lots in which his businesses would be installed.

4) If you could ask the entrepreneur two questions, what would you do? Why?
"Why doesn't McDonalds have a gourmet food line that excludes fast food?
"Why did you treat the McDonalds brothers so badly"

These questions are related since if the McDonalds brothers had continued to own this brand, they would have added this line of food since it would be healthier and richer.

5) For fun: what do you think the entrepreneur's opinion was about hard work? Do you share that opinion?

What I think is hard work is the ambition to become someone in life. This was well demonstrated in this story since at 52 years old one already thinks that one cannot become a millionaire.

Buyer Behavior

Choose a segment
The segment to be dealt with in this activity are recent graduates.

Concern
All my interviewees feel a lot of pressure about what might happen when they graduate, since here in Colombia there are not so many options to get a well-paid job with no experience required. Many of them always complain about how abandoned they feel by the abandonment of the state here in my country. To purchase from other interviewees in the US who just graduate from UF get a well-paid job.

Information search
All my interviewees do the same search process. Here in Colombia, the resume is a little different and has legal procedures for confirmation by notaries to apply to jobs. Many of them know that if they cannot get a full-time job, it is most likely that they will average 300USD a month as part time, which is not enough at all to survive.

conclusion
With these interviews I learned many things which are very important to keep in mind since in one year I will also be an inexperienced graduate student looking for a job. However, I am very afraid of having to spend a lot of time waiting for a good offer. The good thing about UF is that it prepares students to graduate with a good average and this leads to a base salary of $ 70,000 a year which is very good.

IDEA NAPKIN 1

1) Who you are What are your talents What are your skills and experiences. Also: what are your aspirations? Specifically regarding your business concept, how do you see this business (if you were to start it) play a role in your life?

I have been a student since I was 6 years old. I am Colombian and I graduated from a school with an IB diploma and a diploma certifying my bilingualism. My talents are various, primarily I am very good with soccer since I was captain of my team. In the same way I am charismatic. My aspirations in my life is to get to a public office and later aspire to be president of my country. However, a more realistic goal is to be an entrepreneurial millionaire who offers many job opportunities. My business concept is more focused on the field. My business would basically try to facilitate peasant labor in my country to transport the product in a cheaper and faster way, in this way people would benefit and I would fulfill a dream in my life.

2) Describe the product or service (in other words, how it will address customers' unmet needs).
I am offering different forms of agricultural transportation which is directed from rural areas to the most important urban areas of the country. In this way, there would be not only mutual but also environmental benefits.

3) Who are you offering it to?

I am offering it more than anything to the farmers of my country since this class of people live in a somewhat limited environment which leads to great disadvantages.

4) Why do they care?
Clients care about this service because in my country there is not much accessibility in terms of transportation in terms of agricultural areas. In the same way, being rural areas, the people of this area do not have enough resources to have large trucks as we see here in the USA.

5) What are your main competencies?
The main competencies for this service are the different offers that exist in terms of freight cars. In this way a loan is taken out and purchased, however this is not always feasible.

Evaluation
In this situation I think there is a lot of work to be carried out and to consider it. Not only are different transport and loading jobs done, but the different pros and cons in this situation must also be taken into account

Testing Hypothesis Part 2

Summary

In conclusion, I really think that this project could improve and benefit many people and a large number of full-time motorcycle owners who want to share a service like Uber's but on a motorcycle. In accordance with the above, this means that people could have less stress and a few more minutes of sleep to successfully do their work routines without any mishap. In the same way, people who have the possibility of having a motorcycle could have more money in their pockets.

Solving The Problem

The problem

The problem that I managed to reveal in great detail affects not only ordinary people but also executives and congressmen. I refer to the constant traffic jammed in the morning and in the afternoon when the work day is over. Every time I see such heavy traffic on archer road or in my hometown here in Colombia, I can see that people who drive by car take approximately 30 more minutes going a couple of blocks more to get to work. In the same way, the stress of the traffic jams and the anxiety of punctuality has led drivers to get up hours earlier than normal to be able to meet work hours on time.

The solution

The solution that I had in mind and planned to execute mainly in Colombia where spliting the line is legal, is an application that would work like Uber but this would have a very different characteristic. The means of transportation. Before presenting my idea, I would like to show you a bit of context information which clarifies the idea a little more and I have great knowledge since I am part of this group that I will mention below. In Colombia, traffic jams make us waste a lot of time, however, I own a motorcycle which is perfect for getting around at this time since it significantly cuts the daily commute to work. What occurred to me is that people order their transportation service but instead of requiring a car, a motorcycle is required which is able to get into the gaps between the lanes and thus save a lot of time to work and not be subject to stress due to sleep or lateness. However, this application was already being developed before this pandemic and another group of people already came up with this idea, but what I want to do is take it to states in which this type of activities such as splitting the line is legal.

Forming an Opportunity Belief

Belief

I think international students are subject to different obstacles to education and later a job here in the USA.

Belief Description

International students aim to have a quality education and in most cases with a price that is affordable and not so high since some of us at different times have struggled against this high price in some way or another. If all the international students who really need help did everything I had to do to get instate scholarship and pay $ 2,500 to not have to pay $ 15,000, the rate of foreign students would skyrocket.

Prototypical client

Prototype clients are all international students residing at UF and are more specifically from the Caribbean and Latin American areas of the world.

Interview 1

I interviewed a 3rd year student who is from Medellin, Colombia and is studying electrical engineering

Interview 2

I Interviewed a grad school student who is from Argentina and is specializing in project management.

Interview 3

Finally, I interviewed my roommate who is also from Colombia, is her last year and is also an international student.

Reflect

I learned too many things from my classmates and in the same way I realized different things that are happening around me that all of them and I have in common as international students. In the first instance, everyone mentioned to me about the high fees that you have to pay to acquire the F-1 vis and be a student in the USA. These costs between procedures and filing plus the cost of the plane ticket can be up to 2500 USD. This adds to the high price to pay to take 15 UF credits, since for an international student each credit costs almost 1,000 USD. However, none of us pay this high price for a very feasible reason and earned with effort and dedication that is our GPA which allowed us to access a LAC scholarship which allows us to pay 212 USD per credit and not the 1000 USD that are initially budgeted. In the same way, I also learned that the situation in Colombia mainly affects me and Colombians due to the appreciation of the peso.

Summarize

I think that for those of us here as foreigners but who are new to the subject and have not fought a thousand battles like us, the most advanced, it may be a little more difficult for them to find these financial opportunities which would avoid possible serious indebtedness. It would also be a long-term burden for the student and also for the student's family. On the other hand I learned a lot of things from these interviews but with what I keep for life and in my mind. As internationals we feel identified as one, we are able to support each other and in the same way we are able to shake hands in a situation of help. On the other hand, if we are Colombians, mutual aid is even greater and is seen in a totally expressive way.

Likewise, among us, through our group of friends and acquaintances, we encourage people to spread the word so that new international students look for ways to win this LAC scholarship, which can be a great and enormous financial aid for their families.

Entrepreneurship Opportunity

There were two times in which I was a subject of entrepreneurship in my life. First of all, I remember in 2016-2017 in my last year of my high school in Colombia. This year I was chosen with 60% of the votes as president of my school, giving me certain powers that would improve the student infrastructure and influence academic decisions. I remember that in December 2016, a European football venue that was part of FC Porto de Portugal operated at my school, which financed some of our movements within my school. Together with my presidential formula partner, we designed and sponsored a school-wide contest to create a mascot for school sports activities. In the first instance, this proposal was only sketches and designs, however the entire school endorsed this idea and its popularity grew, which became almost a fact. I went from being a student idea to being a debated idea among the founders and owners of my school together with the directors and rectors of the institution. Unfortunately, this initiative was finally approved in June 2017, month in which I had already graduated as a bachelor.

A second activity was when I went to a business exhibition which would allow me to look for some opportunity for job growth which, being an international student, would be very welcome. At this business fair I met different companies in my study area which not only offered excellent opportunities for business growth, but also a teaching environment and a possible profit. I did not go to this activity alone, I went with all my colleagues from my faculty and it was a super pleasant moment.

My Bug list :)

1. People who use the mask incorrectly in times of pandemic

This occurs because many people (including myself) have never experienced a health emergency as important and difficult as that of covid-19.

2. People who do not vibrate their cell phones and notifications sound very hard and constantly

There are people who like attention and show that they are socially important. Also, there are people who just don't like the vibrator or are just clueless.

3.Roaches in summer time.
