Buyer Behavior

Choose a segment
The segment to be dealt with in this activity are recent graduates.

Concern
All my interviewees feel a lot of pressure about what might happen when they graduate, since here in Colombia there are not so many options to get a well-paid job with no experience required. Many of them always complain about how abandoned they feel by the abandonment of the state here in my country. To purchase from other interviewees in the US who just graduate from UF get a well-paid job.

Information search
All my interviewees do the same search process. Here in Colombia, the resume is a little different and has legal procedures for confirmation by notaries to apply to jobs. Many of them know that if they cannot get a full-time job, it is most likely that they will average 300USD a month as part time, which is not enough at all to survive.

conclusion
With these interviews I learned many things which are very important to keep in mind since in one year I will also be an inexperienced graduate student looking for a job. However, I am very afraid of having to spend a lot of time waiting for a good offer. The good thing about UF is that it prepares students to graduate with a good average and this leads to a base salary of $ 70,000 a year which is very good.

  1. Javier,
You made a good point about how Colombia differs from the US. It is sad that so many graduates feel this pressure, as I know I do too. It mostly stems from having an insecurity where it shouldn't exist. You would think a college degree would ensure a well paying job but unfortunately that is no longer the case as education is more accessible to more people now.

  2. Hey Javier,
It’s sad to hear so many young people having to be worried about their future. It is a feeling I can relate to looking at my quickly approaching graduation. There’s a lot of uncertainty going on in the USA too. It was interesting to hear how things work in Colombia, and here’s hoping you get that good offer.
