1) What was the general theme or plot of the book?
The author's medical conditions were his greatest inspiration. This is the reason for the different stories that are shown as the most notable failure of the book. When Scott stopped talking, it was almost the end of the world for him.
2) How, in your opinion, did the book connect and improve with what you are learning in ENT 3003?
The book more than anything is about failure with this class. It is commonly known that failure in entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs is the worst. What the author does is offer and expose different tips that overcome this.
3) If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise entail?
I would design a contest in which different people make their company and apply it in real life. The one with the most income has a A. Strict!
4) What was your biggest surprise or 'aha' moment when reading the book? In other words, what did you learn that differed the most from your expectations?
My biggest surprise was the desire to excel and to overcome all those obstacles in his life through his perseverance.
Hi Javiar,
ReplyDeleteI did my reading reflection on the same thing you did! I was really glad to read this because although failure has a negative connotation it is very normal to fail at something. Especially from being in this class we realize failure happens a lot with entrepreneurs because in order to be successful you must fail. If we didn't fail this world would be perfect. I really liked how the author gave some tips on how to overcome failure
Hey Javier,
ReplyDeleteNice response! I feel like most people don’t like to talk about failure because it makes them uncomfortable. I think this is really unhealthy because it treats failure as a thing that is true about that person, instead of just a thing that happened to them. It’s possible to fail even if you do everything right, so I don’t see a reason to stigmatise it.
Hi Javier!
ReplyDeleteI read the same book as you and I found it to be inspiring as well! I think failure is a hard thing to come to terms with and at the same time realize it is the process of the road to success. I really liked this book because of the author’s realization of this process and the acknowledgement of it.
